The building is characterized by a linear architecture typical of the late 1400s which is when the first portion of the Villa was built.

The foundation stone, dating back to 1464, is located in the lobby area with the date inscribed in roman numerals. Further work was carried out in 1693 and 1694.

Initially it was the hunting manor of Cardinal Silvio Passerini (1469-1529), who died under mysterious circumstances and was buried in Rome. At the time, Cardinal Silvio Passerini was the treasurer of the Vatican, bishop of Cortona and very influential due to the protection offered to him by the Medici family. The estate later became a convent and in the last century a farming estate with vineyards and tobacco plantations. The restoration of the building commenced in 1999 and lasted 2 years.

The Wimpole family was particularly careful in preserving the beauty and authenticity of the original building. Today the Villa is classified as an Historical Residence and offers a warm and elegant atmosphere for the discerning traveller.
